Social Media & Marketing Intern (Fall 2019)

The perfect candidate for this position is seeking hands-on digital marketing experience in a fast-paced environment and willing to work on a variety of projects—you won’t be getting coffee or picking up lunches here! We are a small agency looking for responsible, talented, and eager applicants who aspire to become marketing gurus.

This position supports the team to ensure successful completion of all marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate has completed course work in marketing or communications, enjoys using social media, and isn’t afraid to show a little panache.

Job Responsibilities:           

  • SOCIAL MEDIA (50%)
    • Participate in monthly brainstorm sessions for client social media efforts
    • Schedule social media posts for clients using SproutSocial
    • Create graphics for social media posts as needed
    • Participate in social media strategy and campaign discussions
    • Post blog content as needed
    • Research social media trends and bring forth new ideas
    • Write social media content for clients as needed
    • Post social media content for clients as needed
  • MARKETING (50%)
    • Support and assist the team with day-to-day tasks related to keyword research, web conversion tactics, PPC campaigns, Google Analytics, website modifications and testing, sitemap development, marketing research, and email marketing
    • Generate monthly reports
    • Research marketing trends and tools that may benefit the agency and our clients
    • Collaborate with other staff members on projects as assigned


  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or Marketing
  • Work experience or previous internships in digital marketing preferred
  • Agency experience a plus
  • Must be extremely organized and take direction well
  • Must be a strong and savvy social media user and familiar with such platforms as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.
  • Must be creative, articulate, and enthusiastic
  • Experience with or interest in SEO/SEM principles, keyword research, analytics tools, PPC, email marketing, eCommerce, and various content management systems a plus
  • Demonstrate teamwork and collaborative skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite with strong Photoshop skills a plus
  • Expertise in managing details, prioritizing, and balancing multi-task activities
  • Proven writing, editing, and proofing skills

Compensation and Hours:

Work hours are flexible, but a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week is required, and must be between the office hours of 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Thursday, and 9:00am – noon on Fridays. Compensation is commensurate with experience. College credit will also be given as applicable.
